Here’s wishing you a very happy and prosperous new year!!

Hope you all had a relaxing and fulfilling holiday and were able to spend quality time with your child during the vacation.

We are stepping into an action packed term where the students will be actively engaged in various academic and non-academic activities. Some major highlights of this term are the Founder’s Day, Annual Camps and Student led conference.

Excitement is brewing in my class with lots of practices going on and the academic developments which will give them entirely new areas to inquire into and research about.

Great to have them back and looking forward for an exciting term. J 

Our guest speaker - Ms. Priya Jayant

Ms.Priya Jayant grade 4 home room tutor who have the experience to migrate to different countries came as a guest speaker to have a chat with grade 2 students. The session was very interesting and Ms. Priya shared the reasons for her migrations and the various difficulties she faced in new country. It was a great learning experience for all of us.

MAKING MY TIMELINE

Going back and creating you own timeline is a fun thing to do and my kids were equally enthusiastic when they created their timelines with pictures and details.

Journey of Mankind

Students researched on early human migration and presented their work in front of their class. They were very excited to know about early human life, discovery of fire and wheels and how agriculture started.

Migration Inquiry cycle and Reflection strips

Reflection strips is the new way we are using in our class for writing reflections. Students are given few reflection starters and they have to write their understanding by completing that starter.

 We have almost covered our first bit of the inquiry cycle and it is very interesting to talk about the various aspects of migration.

First field trip - Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

In conjunction with our present unit on Migration under the TD theme “Where we are in place and time” grade 2 visited the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary to see migratory birds and to understand the various reasons of Migration.
